the best gift EVER!

What did I get for mothers day?
I didn’t get any flowers, or home made goodies.

I didn’t get to sleep in ,nor was I served breakfast in bed.

I certainly didn’t get any jewelry….

What did I get? I got to wake up at 11:00, 1:30, and 4:30 a.m. to nurse the baby, fill a sippy cup, and nurse the baby respectively. Then I woke up at 6:00 am to start the day.

I got to wash 2 loads of dishes and 4 loads of laundry.

Oh, and then I got to fold those 4 loads of laundry.

I got to clean smooshed banana off of the carpet.

I got to change 9 diapers (thus far)

I got to bathe a squirmy baby who was COVERED (an understatement) in poop, and yell “sit down in the bathtub” at a toddler who was trying to run laps in the tub, at least 15 times.

I then got to clean the rest of the poop off of the exersaucer the baby was in.

I was told by a two and a half year old to “clean your butt crack mommy” while I was using the bathroom (no, I never get any privacy, and yes, his father taught him that word)
I was also told by a two and a half year old “Mommy, I love you” , “mommy, I hug you” and “mommy, I miss you when you go work” a hand full of times.

I lost count of all the hugs I received.

I got a ton of baby laughs and smiles.
I got to dance to “B-O-O-T-S, boots!” by the Laurie Berkner band not once, but twice with my toddler.

I got to laugh and smile hundreds of times already today.

If I had to choose between a lavish life, with lots of money and time to do whatever I please, travel, sleep all night, but not having my kids
or

working my butt off just to make ends meet, wiping “butt cracks” all day , nursing an always hungry 7 month old even though my chest is killing me, walking around like a sleep deprived zombie, and having these precious babies and their father who loves me…

I would , without a millisecond of doubt, pick the latter. Those boys are my life, my very reason for existance. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God for blessing me with two beautiful, happy, healthy baby boys.
This mothers day, I have everything I ever wanted. And i wouldn’t change it for the world!!

Geez, I followed you over here from my blog, only to find you writing what amounts to “I need no thanks for I am supermom” after I finish writing about how I prepped my daughter for exactly what to tell daddy she should get me for mother’s day. Oy! I’m going to have to follow your blog just so I can learn to be as nice as you! Look forward to reading more…
