A few weeks ago I was contacted by Premier Protein, asking if I would like to try a sample pack of their protein products. New to the no-meat world (hey, did I mention that yet?) I’m always down for alternative sources of protein.
280-290 calories per bar
6-8 g fat
25-26 g carbohydrates
30 g protein
8-10 g sugar
3 g fat
5 g carbohydrates
30 g protein
1 g sugar
Heather: For a bar, I find this to be really high in, well, all of the above nutritional stats. Lots of calories, carbs, and protein for a “bar”. Ideal for some, depending on how hard you are working out, but really heavy, in my opinion, for what i look for in a protein bar. It was really tasty, but I had a hard time finishing the entire thing as I just felt really FULL. This would be great as more of a meal replacement or for someone who requires SERIOUS recovery in the form of calories and protein post workout.
Geoff: liked them until he realized that gelatin was listed in the ingredients. Gelatin = animal product = big no-no for this long time vegetarian. Just an FYI for my other veggie friends.
– 4 Premier Protein shakes: 2 shakes in each flavor (chocolate and vanilla)
