I am not what one would consider a “foodie”. Unless of course, Doritos one day become trendy, in which case I can tell you exactly what beer to pair each chip flavor with. But until that day comes, I am not a foodie. Now, don’t get me wrong, my days as a junk food junkie are (for the most part) gone. I make healthy food choices 98% of the time, but those food choices are typically either a) boring, b) routine, or c) not very pretty (check out exhibit A). Thus, I’ve never felt as though I’d be a worthy participant in the blog trend known as “What I ate Wednesday“, or #WIAW for social-media-short. If you are unfamiliar with #WIAW, the premise is this: take pictures of everything you ate on Wednesday (or Tuesday, or perhaps the whole week, I’m not sure) and share it via a blog post for the world to oogle at your food. Pictures of my daily first breakfast Luna Bar and second breakfast* eggs would get old pretty fast. (* no I’m not a hobbit, just perpetually hungry.)
But I still loved the idea, so I came up with my own version. Now as previously mentioned, I am most definitely lacking kitchen skills, but I DO know a thing or two about running. Thus, I do declare every Friday henceforth “What I Ran By Friday” , or #WIRBF, because it’s 2014 and we must #hashtag everything. Take pictures of the random and/or routine things you run by. I’m certain every single one of us has passed something on the street and thought to ourselves “I wonder how on earth this got here?” Super hero action figure. Someone’s left shoe. Or maybe just pictures of the beautiful scenery you pass everyday. You get the idea.
Now, because I declared #WIRBF late Thursday afternoon, I didn’t have enough time to accumulate a weeks worth of fun photos. In fact, today’s short run was pretty dull, but it wasn’t the treadmill, so 3,000 bonus points for that. So without further ado, my first ever #WIRBF. Feel free to join in, just don’t forget the ridiculous hashtag.
Side note: is it just me, or does all of Vermont smell like cow as it begins to (finally) thaw?
#WIRBF question: what is the most random thing you’ve ever seen on a run? Did you take a picture of it (you can admit it, smart phone generation. )
Now go forth and run by things, my friends!
