I had to make a really crappy decision to not go to Tennessee to race with my Trakkers teammates at Rev3 Knoxville in two weeks. As I’ve mentioned, things here have been a little rocky to say the least, so we decided as a family that it is in my best interest (for the family) to stay here. Further, my tri training has been….well…non existent, as I’m sure you’ve noticed from the lack of “man I really suck at swimming” posts, haha. I’m totally bummed to miss my debut as a Trakker Teammie in our awesome team kits, and to miss meeting these amazing people I’ve been interacting with over the web for the last 5 months. Alas, life is what it is, and at the end of the day, it is always GOOD. So I’m rolling with the punches.
My awesome friend Hope who seems to have this eerie intuition of knowing what I need and when I need it (like, bringing me snacks on the days I’m running around like a maniac) asked me to join her, her brother, and brother in law on a team for a local mud run that same weekend. I may not be able to leave town and leave my family for a few days, but they certainly understand when mama needs to leave the house for a few hours ….to go run around in mud, haha.
I’m really excited for the mud run, but I’d be lying if I said one little detail wasn’t still lingering in my mind…

I’m off to download the One Hundred Push ups app, and see what I can knock out in the next 14 days. REALLY looking forward to taking revenge on a mud run, and leaving unscathed. Dirty, yeah, but all ligaments, tendons, and bones in one piece. Here’s hoping!
Happy running my friends. Don’t forget the upper body!
