Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day. It asks you, ‘Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?’
~ Peter Maher
All that matters is that you show up. And if you show up, running will be there, to be whatever it is you want it to be. That I never have to worry about.
In the past two weeks I’ve run in South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and now New Hampshire. And when I run, for those few miles, everything in my world is alright again. All the troubles in my life are but a distant memory when my feet are pounding the pavement (trail, grass, sidewalk). I can smile. I’ve listed time and time again on this blog exactly what running means to me, but now I add something new to the list: normalcy.
