But sometimes, just doing what you can still works too.
A lot of you have been asking how Insanity has been going. Well, it’s uh, errr, it’s been going, just, ummm not exactly to schedule, haha. Such is the life of a mom I guess. No, that’s an excuse. Being a mom has nothing to do with it. It’s me, not Shaun T, that I can assure you. We’ve had a lot of crap go down around here lately. Crap is such an awful generic potty mouth word, but that’s exactly how I feel about it. It’s CRAP. Rich’s health has taken a nose dive, and doctors don’t seem to give a flying front door about it. But don’t worry, mama bear here is taking charge, HIPPA laws or not, and going to bat for him until *I* find a doctor who DOES care and will listen. Because I have faith there are some out there, and I know it is NOT normal and NOT ok for a 29 year old otherwise healthy man to walk around like a crippled 92 year old man.
Grumble grumble. Back to Insanity. The emotional tolls of life have made me feel lazy. That’s all there is to it. LA-ZY.
In the last 27 days since I started, I think I’ve done the first week (of 8) , uhh, almost 4 times now. Well parts of it at least, haha. I’ve probably done about 15 days worth of Insanity workouts. I had every intention of sticking with the schedule, but well, you all know how I am with schedules and kid wrangling. And life. . Not as good as I’d like to be. So instead of pushing forward I restarted the first week a bunch of times. It’s the exercise OCD in me (I wish it would transfer over to housekeeping, but anywho). I’m pretty much a Plyometric Cardio Circuit (aka day 1) pro at this point.
But despite not following the schedule, I’ve still been feeling stronger. My abs feel tighter. And while I still rue the day Shaun T was born while I’m in the middle of the workout…I notice each time is a little easier. Just a little, but a little has got to mean something.
So today, in my ultimate “I swear I’m going to do all 60 days with no interruptions” (Vegas odds anyone?) commitment, I am starting from SQUARE one, with new “before” pics, and a new starting fit test.
And lo and behold…looky here.
Other than the switch kicks (no idea there), I see some super mega improvement, which honestly shocked me considering my half-a$$-ness when it came to the program.
More before and afters to come. Stay tuned.
In other exciting news that totally made me smile:
1) I took my kids to work today. Kainy latched on to one of my lovely participants and tried to do all of the exercises. It was ADORABLE, and of course made my day that he was so thrilled to workout. Lead by example my friends, lead by example! These kids watch every move you make!
2) I’m totally honored to have been chosen as a FitFluential Inc Ambassador. Any way, shape, or form that allows me to help further spread the fit and healthy lifestyle influence the better! Check it out!
