One of the biggest issues I always faced when running in the hot weather of SC was, what do I do with all of my “stuff”? It seems here in NH in the winter this is hardly a problem, because in all of the layers you have to wear to survive, there is bound to be a pocket or two. But when it comes to shorts and a tank top, or especially a tri kit, this isn’t always the case.
I was contacted by Andrew of GivenBrand.com to review a performance Arm Pocket. Andrew, a fellow triathlete and runner, wanted an easy way to store all of his “stuff” that was necessary for biking AND running, and would easily make the transition from one to another. And thus, the arm pocket was born.
I chose a pink arm pocket (bet you would have never guessed that one) and I loved the color and the feel. I certainly echo the “second skin” feel, as the pocket was very light and comfortable. For me and my chicken arms, I had a hard time at first finding a place for the arm pocket to fit. It was slightly too tight to go above my elbow, but way too big to fit on my forearm. Best fit for me was just below my elbow. And it was a little awkward for me to have my phone right there on my arm (Android Ally). However, for some cash, a car key, a GU, and a credit card or ID, the arm pocket was perfect.
I genuinely feel that this is not a product flaw, just the fact that I’m a 29 year old with arms the size of a 14 year old, and clearly, I need to work that brachioradialus a little harder and the triceps a little less in the gym…or stretch out my arm pocket to fit higher on my arm, haha!
Regardless, I would certainly recommend this product to someone looking for an alternative to a waist belt to hold your essential items. And, at only $14.95 with free shipping, you might as well give it a try! In fact, I’m hoping to have mine broken in just in time to wear to the Manchester city half marathon next weekend.
Andrew was kind enough to offer a pink arm pocket to one of my lucky readers! For two chances to win:
