What I remember the most about that day, 10 years ago, was how blue the sky was on the TV screen, behind the reporter. I also remember watching, live, as the second plane hit the towers, behind that same reporter, and knowing in my heart the instant the plane hit, that something of horrific proportions had just happened, and our Nation would never be the same.
The rest of the day… so many students from the city… their families in the towers…my family in D.C….no ones phone calls went through… campus on lockdown… so much panic and many tears…it was and still is all a blur.
But that blue sky, and the second plane, are forever etched into my memory.
My heart is with all of the victims, their families, and all of the survivors, all of the men and women who went to war and continue to protect us now, and everyone else who’s lives were forever changed on that tragic day. God Bless the U.S.A.
