I often smile when I hear comments from people who wish they could wear yoga pants to work. I laugh even harder when I see memes or wisecracks on the internet from people who assume those who wear yoga pants all day are lazy.  I smile because I do get to wear yoga pants to work, every single day if I want to. But I laugh because in these stretchy pants, I work incredibly hard and accomplish some pretty amazing feats; I am anything but lazy. Yes, I count my blessings everyday that I have found my calling in the fitness industry, and more so, that I get to share my passion for fitness with others every single day…wearing comfortable pants instead of a business suit is an added bonus. That said, these yoga pants and lycra tights ARE my business attire, they absolutely have to look good and function flawlessly.

Lorna Jane Gift Ideas

Lorna Jane Active Living, an athletic brand originally based out of Australia and designed by Lorna Jane Clark, understands that health and fitness is a lifestyle that transcends the walls of the gym. Their fashion-meets-sport fitness apparel line is designed to crossover between the gym and the streets. Lorna Jane recently sent me a few pieces from their line to test out, and asked me to share my Holiday Wishlist from their current line.

What I love: brightly colored pieces that are functional, fashionable, yet still professional; I am comfortable and confident to wear these clothes while working with clients, while out running errands (and not looking like I just stepped out of the locker room) or during my own workout. And in a classic case of “you get what you pay for”, the quality of Lorna Jane line, from stitching, to fabric, to function, and wear,  has absolutely exceeded my expectations.

5 Holiday Gift Ideas from Lorna Jane

Amy F/L Tight (MSRP: $99.99)

Lorna Jane tight

Black tights are an essential piece to any fitness professional or enthusiast’s wardrobe. The Amy full length tight is made from the Lorna Jane Excel Classic fabric, which is shrink and fade resistant, wicks away moisture, is breathable, and quick drying. The tight features a soft elastic draw string waist and a small zip pocket. Typically I’m hesitant of draw string waists, as they often don’t stay put, but these tights held up during a 10 mile run, an hour snowshoe session, and a 12 hour shift at the gym, without any slipping.

Venice Beach Run Short ($65.99)

Lorna Jane Venice Beach Run Short

I LOVE bright colors. The “louder” the better, in my opinion. This brightly colored short is guaranteed to make you forget about the dull gray winter sky outside. Encased elastic waistband with external elastic draw cord for a more comfortable fit, and a curved hem at side seams for increased movement make these shorts perfect for your next run or HIIT session.

Aurora Hooded Sweat: ($85.99)

Lorna Jane Aurora Hooded Sweat

Is it a hoodie? Is it a winter sweater? I’d wear this to the gym…and then I’d throw on jeans and wear it out to the bar with friends. Made from Lorna Jane stretch cotton blend jersey, the Aurora Hooded Sweat has rib cuffs, hem band and neckline for increased comfort, and a front pouch pocket to stash your cash or keys.

Influence Excel Zip Through ($115.00)

Lorna Jane 2

A slip full zip jacket that is ideal for outdoor exercise. A high neckline, thumb holes, and mesh paneling help keep you warm, yet dry, when the temperature drops. Bonus? The super bright fluorescent orange color doubles as a safety measure when outdoors! I wore this jacket snowshoeing and was perfectly content. Not only did I stay warm, but the jacket didn’t ride up or restrict movement in any way. The tucks in the shoulders aide in added range of motion, and add feminine flair.

I love the shorts & the hoodie! You know I am also fortunate enough to work in yoga pants (or tights, or shorts) so having quality pieces is so important!
