Saucony ViZiPRO: Can you see me now?

Confession time! I have an obsession with fluorescent/neon/day-glo colored clothing. I think it stems back to my childhood, being a young and impressionable tween/pre-teen back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Back then, I can promise if you replaced my closet light with a black light bulb my entire wardrobe would have blinded you.

I’m pretty sure when Saucony created their ViZiPRO dayglo orange line, they were thinking more along the lines of safety and not those of us who wish we could trade in Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga for a C&C Music Factory and Whitney Houston (before she met Bobby Brown…) comeback. Yes friends, not only do I love to run, but I love to do the running man too.

Wooo check out the gun show! Ha, I’m working on it.

But I digress, Saucony clearly had our safety as runners, cyclists, and triathletes in mind when they created the ViziPRO line. Saucony says:

“Daylight –Savings Time is just around the corner as it goes into effect on November 7th (TODAY! Turn those clocks back if you haven’t already!). As runners find themselves faced with shorter daylight hours, Saucony is working hard to ensure safe running with its highly reflective ViZiPRO Collection. As runners find their safety becoming more compromised with increasingly distracted drivers, Saucony’s ViZiPRO Collection provides enhanced visibility with its trademark neon orange color. The Collection features jackets, footwear, sport tops, vests, hand gear and head gear, both in women’s and men’s sizes. According to industry-standard chromaticity testing results, Saucony’s ViZiPRO fluorescent orange fabric rated highest in visibility within the running industry. “

See, I’m not lying when I say these pictures absolutely do not do the real color justice. I’m talking hunters safety orange. Trail run through the woods during deer hunting season and not be mistaken for a deer type of orange.

I’ve been running in the Saucony ProGrid Kinvaras for almost a month now, and I love them more and more every day (review here), color choice aside.

The awesome people at Saucony sent me a pair of the Saucony ViZiPRO arm warmers. I know I joke around a lot, but I’m serious when it comes to safety. I have two precious little boys at home who call me mom, and returning safely home to them each and every time is my #1 priority.

Now, I’ve heard over and over again “I don’t get arm warmers…why not wear a long sleeve
shirt?” and I’ll tell you why. Because I like options. As a South East runner, you never know what the weather is going to be like in the fall and winter. 32 degrees and frosty one day. 70 and beach weather the next. 45 degrees in the morning. 84 , hot and humid at noon. I’m telling you, it’s crazy down here. And when I run in a sports bra, a tank top or short sleeve (in case it warms up) and a long sleeve, my core sweats. A LOT. I get hot. But my arms, they get cold. Blame poor circulation and South Carolina weather. Arm warmers are the perfect solution because I can keep one layer on the core, and an easy to shed layer keeping my arms warm.

This is quite the opposite from a running vest, which I’m still trying to figure out. But anyway, arm warmers = greatest invention, must have for any runner. And this pair, fits wonderfully.

The Elite Arm warmers have:

• Ergonomic fit provides full range of motion
• Thermo-regulating fabric keeps you dry
• Wicking fibers move moisture off the skin
• 50+ UV protection from the sun

AND, most importantly, they stay put, they keep my arms warm, and they are comfortable. Oh yeah, and drivers can probably see me from half a mile away. End of story.

If you are a trail runner, a dawn or dusk runner, or even just a 80’s/90’s neon fashionista at heart, check out the Saucony ViZiPRO line for MEN and WOMEN. From jackets, to vests, to shoes, arm warmers, hats, gloves, and more….the ViZiPRO line will keep you bright and safe!

Happy (safe, visible) running my friends!

I’m also sold on the arm warmers – wore the exact same ones in my marathon today. Love the orange!

Awesome! I’ve been using my baby’s “baby legs”…baby leg warmers for my running arm covers but these look pretty cool! I might just have to get a pair.

Those are far brighter than their website gives them credit for! I was wondering since, on my computer, the line looked kind of salmon-y… Now I really want a pair!

I love these so much, I’m up to three pair of them. They fit a heck of a lot better than my Nathan sleeves and they are exponentially brighter. And like you said, I didn’t see why people wore arm sleeves until I tried them myself. Wear them all the time now (well, when I run or bike at least).

I have a thing for bright/loud colors and patterns anyway so it’s just icing on the cake that they are useful this time of year.
    Love ’em!!

Love the gun show, Heather! When I was running in 32 degrees this morning, I was definitely thinking about the need for warm running gear.

Thanks from THAT blast from the past!
I’ll be singing it all day!

Love the neon arm warmers! I’m still trying to figure out what to wear! I freeze to death so I bundle up to make myself get out there, then start burning up about a mile into my run.
